Privacy Policy

1. Who we are and what this policy covers
AutoLendingBC is a lead-generation service operated in connection with Go Kia Richmond, part of the Go Auto network. This policy covers autolendingbc.ca and its application form. To be plain about it up front: we are not a lender.
We work with applicants across a wide range of credit histories — bankruptcy discharges, past repossessions, self-employment income, and new-to-Canada applicants included. This policy explains, in plain language, what personal information we collect when you use the application form, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
2. The privacy laws we follow
We handle your personal information in a way designed to comply with Canada’s federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). Where these two laws overlap, we follow whichever standard offers you stronger protection.
3. The personal information we collect
When you complete the application form on autolendingbc.ca, we collect exactly what you enter into it:
- vehicle type;
- monthly budget range;
- postal code;
- employment status and employment duration;
- employer name and job title, or a description of your other source of income;
- monthly income range;
- whether you rent or own, and your monthly housing cost;
- your first and last name;
- your date of birth;
- your street address and city;
- your email address; and
- your phone number.
We also record two things automatically when you submit the form: the IP address the application was submitted from, and the date and time you gave consent.
4. How we collect it
We collect only what you type into the application form. There is no third-party address autocomplete and no data-broker enrichment — you enter your address by hand, and that is the only address information we have about you.
We do not buy lists of leads, do not scrape your information from other websites, and do not receive your personal information from any source other than the form you fill out yourself.
5. How we use your information
We use your personal information to:
- assess your financing options;
- contact you by phone, SMS, and email about your application; and
- match you with a vehicle.
Plainly stated: we do not sell your personal information.
6. Your consent (PIPEDA)
You give consent by checking the box on the last screen of the application. That box is never pre-checked — you have to actively check it yourself. The specific version of the consent wording you agreed to is recorded together with your application, so we always know exactly what you consented to.
You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits; withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer move your application forward.
7. Phone and SMS consent (CASL)
By checking the consent box, you agree to be contacted by phone, SMS text message, and email about your application. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply. You can withdraw this consent at any time — reply STOP to a text message, tell whoever calls you, or use the contact route in Section 17 of this policy. We honour a withdrawal promptly.
8. How we share and disclose your information
We may share your information with:
- financing partners and lenders who assess your application;
- Go Kia Richmond;
- the service providers who host the systems we run on; and
- authorities or others, where the law requires it.
We share your information only for the purposes described in this policy — to move your application forward and to operate the systems that support it. We do not share your information with unrelated third parties for their own marketing purposes.
9. Credit inquiry authorization
When you submit the application form on autolendingbc.ca, that submission constitutes your consent for Go Kia Richmond and its financing partners to obtain your credit report or credit score from one or more credit reporting agencies, as described in Section 6 of our Terms of Use.
We use that information solely to assess your financing options and to match you with a lender or financing partner — never for any unrelated purpose.
10. How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as we reasonably need it to serve you as an applicant and to meet our legal record-keeping obligations, and then it is deleted.
If you ask us to delete your information sooner, see Section 13 (Your rights and choices) for how to make that request.
11. Where your information is stored (cross-border)
Your application is stored in a database operated by the business behind carvis.ca. Some of the service providers we rely on may process data outside Canada, where foreign courts and authorities may be able to access it under their own laws.
We choose service providers that we believe apply reasonable safeguards to protect your information, wherever it is processed.
12. How we protect your information
Your application is transmitted to us over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and access to it is limited to the people who need it to do their jobs. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps designed to protect your information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access.
13. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to ask us to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is inaccurate or out of date; and
- withdraw a consent you previously gave.
To exercise any of these rights, use the contact route in Section 17 of this policy. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
14. Cookies, analytics, and tracking
autolendingbc.ca uses the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure ad performance. The Pixel sets cookies and reports page views and application steps back to Meta. It is not used to send Meta your name, date of birth, income, address, phone number, or email — those fields stay in our own system. You can read Meta’s own data policy at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/. We do not use Google Analytics.
15. Age and eligibility
You must be at least 18 to apply. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted an application, contact us using Section 17 and we will remove it.
16. Changes to this policy
When we update this policy, we revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We will publish the current version of this policy at this same address, so you can always see the version that applies to your application.
17. Contact us
You can reach us by email at [email protected], by phone at 604-273-1800, or by mail at Go Kia Richmond, 5660 Minoru Blvd, Richmond, BC.
